FujiFilm’s FinePix Z33WP

FujiFilm has recently announced the unveiling of several point-and-shoot cameras, including the FinePix Z33WP. These 10 Megapixel cameras promise that they are “Life-Proof”.

So what does “Life-Proof” mean? For starters, the Z33WP is waterproof up to ten feet. Sadly, I am getting reports that it is not shock-proof. Sadly, I don’t think this is as “Life-Proof” as it claims, but if you live a life without extreme sports, the Z33WP is probably more than what you need.

The ZP33WP includes a 3x optical zoom lens, SR Auto, and a “blog mode” that can resize images to 640×480. Other features include face detection technology, which can detect ten faces and set the correct the focus and exposure automatically, which includes Automatic Red Eye Removal.

Another feature is the One Touch MOVIE button that can capture VGA quality movie clips at 30 frames per second with sound. In addition to the video, the camera also has a long-life rechargeable Li-ion battery that can take up to 200 shots per single charge.

Until then, let me know what you think about the camera’s design? It reminds me of the fat aesthetic in the 2002 animated movie Lilo and Stitch. Lilo even had a camera that looked like the Z33WP. Chime in to let me know what you think.
